10th Asian Dragon Boat Championships Get Underway Next Week

One of the more interesting water events of the year, the 10th Asian Dragon Boat Championship gets underway next weekend in Haeundae.

BUSAN, South Korea -- Hosted by the Asian Dragon Boat Federation, Suyeong River and Apec Naru Park in Haeundae play host to the 10th edition of the Asian Dragon Boat Championships. For those of you who have never experienced it, dragon boats offer a unique twist on classing rowing sculls, with an effigy of a dragon on the prow and a drummer sitting in the stern to keep time for the five to 22 rowers.

The 10th Asian Dragon Boat Championship is taking place from September 7th-9th at Suyeong River and APEC Naru Park in Haeundae. Around 600 participants from 11 countries are expected to be participate this year.

    - 12 Crews : 200m, 500m Open, Female, Coed Team
    - 22 Crews : 200m, 500m, Open, Female, Coed Team
    - 22 Crews : 5,000m, Open, Female

○ Busan Mayor’s Cup 12 Crew Race : 500m Coed Race (Sept.9)
