SAITAMA, Japan - Keisuke Honda, Ryoichi Maeda and Shinji Okazaki all scored for Japan, who easily defeated an unimpressive Oman side 3-0 at home Sunday night.
Honda did his damage early on in the 11th minute after a superb left-foot volley giving Japan the early advantage.
Japan scored two goals within ten minutes of the second half, though Maeda's goal to make it 2-0 appeared to be offside. Okazaki made no mistake from short range to put the game out of reach in the 54th minute.
Japan face Jordan on June 8 in Saitama, before heading to Brisbane for their key match against Australia four days later.
