The annual release of France’s Beaujolais Nouveau wine is near, and Busan’s Alliance Française group is ready to celebrate. They will throw a big party to celebrate the release. Tickets are now available. Grab one and get your fill.

BUSAN, South Korea -- At the strike of midnight on the third Thursday of November each year, the country of France celebrates the uncorking of the new Beaujolais Nouveau wine. While most red wines improve with age, this young, light-bodied and fruity wine from the south of Burgundy is best consumed six weeks after harvest.

Beaujolais Nouveau is a red wine made from Gamay grapes produced in the Beaujolais region of France. It is the most popular vin de primeur, fermented for just a few weeks then officially released for sale throughout France and around the world. The French have been celebrating the release of the wine since the 1800s and this year’s release is scheduled for November 18th.

To celebrate in Busan, Alliance Française will be hosting a Beaujolais Nouveau party Friday, November 26th from 7 p.m. at the Cafe Chiffon in Nampo-dong.

The number of tickets to the event is limited to 120, at a cost of 25,000 won each. Included in the price is unlimited Beaujolais Nouveau and other french wine, plus snacks, cheese, bread and cakes. To avoid disappointment, early reservations are strongly recommended.

The theme of this year’s soirée is Rouge & Noir, so be prepared as the dress code is red and black. There is also a photo corner and door prizes to be given away.

Aude-Emeline Loriot-Nurbianto, Directrice of Alliance Française Busan describes the party as “a multicultural event which gathers teachers, businessmen, students, Korean, French and other nationalities who want to have a good time together. Every French food and beverage lover can enjoy a nice evening and meet new people sharing the same interest for French culture.”

If you are looking for a night to celebrate life, wine and a great French tradition, get your tickets quick and enjoy a unique experience to start the holiday season!

To reserve, you can contact Alliance Française at 051-465-0306, or by bank transfer  (Wooribank, Lee Jung-Hwa, 1002-340-361883) where your reservation will be confirmed upon receipt of bank transfer. Ticket sales begin from November 12th and should be made on or before Friday, November 19th.
