Soccer Legend Ahn Jung-hwan to Retire

One of the 2002 heroes of Korean soccer will hang up his cleats for good next week.

SEOUL, South Korea - Ahn Jung-hwan, famous for his heroics at the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup, will retire next week. In a press release, Moro Sports Korea said Ahn will hold a press conference on Tuesday to announce his departure from football.
The 36-year-old Ahn became notorious in Italy on 2002, when his goal knocked the Italians out of the World Cup. Ahn was subsequently released from his Italian club AC Perugia. Ahn he three previous stints in Busan where he began his career 1998.
During his 14-year national career, he was capped 71 times, while scoring 17 goals.
He is also married former Miss Korea Lee Hye-won, and have become known for the charitable work around the country.
