Williams Leads Orions to Upset KT

The Goyang Orions broke the Sonic Boom's four game winning streak Sunday afternoon, defeating KT 84-72.

GOYANG, South Korea - Chris Williams scored 25 points and added 13 rebounds, as the Goyang Orions upset the KT Sonic Boom 84-72 Sunday afternoon in Goyang. The loss breaks the Sonic Booms four game winning streak.

KT came out flat in the game, and struggled to match the intensity and hustle of Goyang. The Orions used an 11-0 run early to take an eight point lead midway through the second quarter, but KT could never sustain a big run, and instead kept falling behind further.

After trailing 42-33 at halftime, KT managed to cut the lead to 49-45 after a Charles Rhodes basket, but the Orions then went on a 13-0 run over the next four minutes to seal the victory at the end of the third. Both teams used reserves for most of the fourth to save energy for later games this week.

Cho Dong-hyun led KT with 15 points, while Cho Sung-min added 11. Charles Rhodes had a double-double of 10 points and 10 assists.

KT's next game is at home Tuesday night verses Incheon ET Land. Tip off is at 7 p.m.
