Olympic Gold Medal winner Kim Yu-na's foray into the TV world has not gotten off to a succesful start.
Kim's show "Kiss and Cry" is a reality show that focuses on 10 Korean celebrities attempt to learn figure skating. Similar in style to a "Dancing with the Star's" theme, where a competitor is eliminated each week, the show has drawn low ratings for the SBS network, which was rumored to have spent a lot of money to secure Kim as its host.
The show which airs Sunday night, had an 8.1% ranking for the second week, down from 10.5% a week earlier. Viewers complained of not enough action, and too much time spent reviewing the first weeks highlights.
"Figure skating is not a sport that is enjoyed by the general public, and the concept of having 10 celebrities compete after being paired with 10 professional figure skaters can easily become boring," one expert said.
