The Positions are a diverse group of Busanites hailing from all over the globe. Canadian Mike Edmunds leads the band along with fellow Canadian Thomas Fenton on lead guitar, American’s Jon Schultz on bass, Patrick Carle on the “Rockolin” and rounding out the ensemble is South Korean Han Jinu on drums. The band performs a mix of originals and cover songs with an energy reminiscent of The Dave Matthews Band. Of the originals, lead singer Mike Edmunds says: “The biggest influence as a songwriter is Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October. I am not much of a guitarist, so listening to his songs helped me realize that simply played songs can be made extraordinary through the lyrics and passion of the vocalist.” Mike added the major difference between playing in Busan and back home is that “it is easier to get people out to a show here because of the tightness of our foreign community.”
