KBL - ET Land Sale Sends KBL Future in Doubt

KBL - ET Land Sale Sends KBL Future in Doubt

SEOUL, South Korea - Speculation of the demise of the Incheon ET Land Elephants has hit the local press, raising concerns of possibly losing a team in the Korean Basketball League.

The Korea Times reported that the club, which was established in 1997 as the Incheon Daewoo Zeus, is for sale by its parent company, ET Land. Lotte and Emart, who are subisidiaries of local retail giant Shinsegae, are considered the top candidates to purchase ET Land, which could spell disaster for the KBL. Shinsegae recently disbanded the Shinsegae Coolcats of the Women's Korean Basketball League, which had been in existence since 1998. With the loss of that team, the women's league is down to five teams, and with the possible loss of ET Land, the men's would be down to nine.

St. Patrick`s Day Guide 2012

St. Patrick`s Day Guide 2012

BUSAN, South Korea - It’s that time of year again to adorn the green and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Busan. Though there aren’t any parades, there’s a lot of activities going on this year as the big event falls on a Saturday.

Here is a look at some of the events going on around Busan and around the local area. Put on your green and head out for a night of fun and a bit o’ the Irish this Saturday. More listings will be added during the week as we find out about them, so check regularly for the latest updates.

RA presents: Dear God, help us. It's... The Least Sober Day of The Year! @ Royal Anchor Ulsan

I know what you're all thinking, "Lord, here come all the ridiculous puns about the Irish." Or some of you may think, "Who are you kidding? I don't need a pointless holiday to tell me how drunk I can get (or need to be)!" Well you know what? When I stumble across you lying naked in a gutter, your entire body painted green and you start in with the chorus of 'Danny Boy' or 'Rocky Road To Dublin,' you know what I'm going to say to you? I'm gonna say... well, absolutely nothing. Chances are I'll be lying right next to you, vomiting up corn beef and cabbage.

And I bet some doubters think that this can't possibly qualify as the drunkest day of the year. I myself have yet to pass a Christmas without downing the obligatory liter or two of peppermint schnapps.
