Art and Craft Market now held on Fridays at Busan Station Culture Square

BUSAN, South Korea - Dong-gu District will hold the Art and Craft Market every Friday until the end of November, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. It is called a 'free market' in Korean because it takes place in an open space not normally designated as a market area, such as on a street sidewalk or in the park.

A sure sign of its growing popularity since last year, a wider variety of handicrafts made by young artists with beads, leather, pressed flowers, and polymer clay will be introduced at the free market this year. 

In an art and craft market, local artists come to exhibit and sell their artworks to citizens who have come to buy or browse. The market often takes on the atmosphere of a festival, and is a place where artists and citizens can naturally communicate with each other.

BUSAN, South Korea - The Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream, which stands at the entrance of Dadaepo Beach, changes its color and water stream in accordance with a lively musical soundtrack to keep visitors enchanted and entertained. The fountain shoots different-looking streams of water up into the sky in line with the music.

The Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream opened in 2009. It is 60 meters in diameter and shoots water up to 55 meters high, making it the largest water fountain in the world. The water changes form according to which of the 300 songs are playing, including K-pop tracks, pop songs and classical music. Sometimes the jets of water appearing to be running back and forth; at other times, they create the impression they are shaking hands, or shooting up in a mist. These are arranged under 27 different themes.

SEOUL, South Korea - International visitors and foreigners can receive up to a 30% discount on KTX tickets around the country until December 31st, 2012 if you purchase your ticket on the Visit Korea Year website and pick it up at a designated ticket office. The office in Busan is located on the fourth floor in Busan Station, and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the ticket is not available at general ticket windows. 

The discount will depend on the route you travel, and once booked, it is hard to change the departure time and date. The special discount is also not available during busy seasons such as Korean Thanksgiving and the Lunar New Year holidays.
