New Comedy Show Starting to Turn Some Ears

BUSAN, South Korea -- First, Busan eFM (90.5FM) is Busan’s only all-English radio station. From what I can surmise from the few times I’ve listened to the station, is that the programs are intended for Korean people who want to learn English. Fair enough.

The hosts are cheerful if not a bit bland and the subject matter covered on the several shows that run throughout the week is quite similar – wacky things in the news, what’s going on in Korea (festivals, events, etc.) and music that breaks down to about 70-30 Western pop to K pop. Generally, not something I would even listen to back home.

Welcome to Haps Radio!

This is a new project we are starting and hope to build into a community based program series that allows people to express themselves in an audio format.

Be it radio hosts, such as our first (and only) Gus Swanda, musicians, conspiracy theorists or just about anyone out there that has something to say or play.

We are still working out the technical aspects, so bear with us. For now, there is plenty of Gus' very entertaining show to catch up on until we can bring you more.

Busan Lifers: Sean O'Malley

BUSAN, South Korea --You might not see them at the pub every night, but somehow when they do walk in, everyone seems to know them. There was a time when they might have been regulars, but now they are too busy with families, projects, multiple jobs, and enjoying their access to a side of the city most newcomers don’t experience. Many of these “lifers” have become legal residents, and some can even vote on local affairs. They often have compelling stories and plenty of anecdotes that may have gone untold – until now.
