Rescued Vice Principal of High School Commits Suicide

JINDO, South Korea -- The vice principal of Danwon High School who was rescued from the Sewol ferry accident committed suicide today according to local police, further adding to the tragedy that has so far claimed 25 lives.

Kang Min-kyu, 52, was found hanging from a tree near a gymnasium at 4:05 p.m. today apparently grief stricken that he survived the accident while his students didn't according to local media.

Rescue Underway for Sinking South Korean Ship Carrying 320 High School Students

JINDO, South Korea -- A ship carrying 350 passengers, including 320 students is currently sinking in waters off Jindo, South Jeolla Province according to local and international reports.

According to Yonhap News, the ship was heading to Jeju Island when it apparently collided with rocks during heavy fog. The students from Danwon High School in Ansan, was heading to the island for an educational excursion.

BUSAN, South Korea -- The Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, or Cherry Blossom Festival, drew more than 3,060,000 visitors this year. 

The festival is estimated to have brought in 80.6 billion won into the local economy. This year's festival was successful due to good weather as well as the time of the cherry blossom's blooming.
